Spotted a big herd of buffalos at Babwata National Park, Namibia.
Meet the African Penguins at Boulders Beach on the way to Table Mountain National Park, South Africa.
When it comes to picture-postcard beaches in Cape Town, you’re spoilt for choice. But Boulders Beach offers up something the others don’t – African Penguins!
We stopped close to Simons Town to take a look at some whales feeding close to shore. All of a sudden, not far from us, there was this little guy taking a sunbath. Penguins are stunning little creatures and definately nothing you would expect to see while being in Southern Africa.
There is so much to know about them! If you are ever around Cape Town – dont miss to stop by Boulders Beach and spend a little time with the endagered African Penguins.
It has distinctive pink patches of skin above the eyes and a black facial mask; the body upperparts are black and sharply delineated from the white underparts, which are spotted and marked with a black band. The pink gland above their eyes helps them to cope with changing temperatures. When the temperature gets hotter, the body of the African penguin sends more blood to these glands to be cooled by the air surrounding it. This then causes the gland to turn a darker shade of pink.”Wikipedia
It amazes me every single time how secretive those little bucks can stand without you even knowing that they are so close to you.
This little and beautiful fellow visited us close to our private splash pool at Etosha National Park.
At Cape Cross Namibia you cant do anything different than taking pics of all the seals there 😉 This one was defiantely striking quite a pose for me that day.
